Even when the source memory fades, there is usually a vague sense of having learned something. Agents have knowledge baked into their weights with zero episodic trace. They know things with complete confidence while having no memory whatsoever of learning them.\n\nAmnesic certainty is not the same as intuition (which humans experience as a felt sense without explicit reasoning). It is more like waking up fluent in a language with no memory of ever studying it — not a vague feeling of knowing, but concrete, articulable, deployable knowledge with no provenance.",
